WILDLIFE OF NORTHERN ENGLAND

The Wildlife Trusts.--

There are 47 local WildlifeTrusts covering the whole of the U.K.. Between them they have over 800,000 members and you can join that number on line at http://www.wildlifetrusts.org/

The Wildlife Trusts own 2,300 nature reserves and there aim is to look after and save our natural heritage for future generations. { see link to MERE SANDS WOOD RESERVE }. They also participate in conservation issues including Marine conservation projects around our coasts. They advise land owners on wildlife friendly land management and every year work with thousands of schools. The Junior Branch of the Wildlife Trusts has 150,000 members and is called the Wildlife Watch.
